AB2316 and SB1020 are pivotal pieces of legislation aimed at bringing about positive change. AB2316 focuses on creating community renewable energy programs, including community solar storage, designed to benefit low-income customers and renters. On the other hand, SB1020 is designed to stimulate clean energy job growth, reduce California's energy costs, and ensure equitable progress toward our 2045 climate goals.

These important bills garnered strong support from TURN, The Utility Reform Network. To amplify their impact, a digital campaign was initiated. The campaign's objective was to raise awareness about these bills and attract the attention of legislators and the governor. It ran concurrently with the legislative process and concluded triumphantly when Governor Newsome signed both bills into law on September 16, 2022.
