California Northstate University Hospital Campaign

Stonelake Community, nestled in Elk Grove, CA, is a neighborhood strategically located just a few blocks away from Sacramento's vital interstate freeways and bustling local businesses. However, a significant development proposal by California Northstate University (CNU) threatened the tranquility of this community.

CNU had ambitious plans, in collaboration with the City of Elk Grove, to construct a hospital and biotech facility near Stonelake Community. This project, though promising in some aspects, carried substantial concerns. It posed a risk of forcing local businesses to close down, increasing traffic congestion on the freeways, disrupting wildlife migration routes, and imposing hardships on Stonelake residents.

In response, the Stonelake Community united to reject this project and take decisive action. I was entrusted with the task of creating printed materials to inform the community about the potential impacts. Additionally, I crafted a compelling PowerPoint presentation delivered to the City of Elk Grove's Planning Commission.

The combined efforts of the community, backed by these informative materials and persuasive presentations, led to the City of Elk Grove ultimately rejecting the CNU project. This pivotal decision prompted CNU to search for a more suitable and less disruptive location for their hospital, effectively safeguarding the interests and well-being of Stonelake residents.
